A single casual remark from Ryo quietly, yet profoundly, shifted the course of my life.
“Then let’s make jeans.”
If he hadn’t said those words that day, and if I hadn’t replied almost instinctively, “Yes, let’s do it,” OOE YOFUKUTEN simply wouldn’t exist today.
Why did we start making jeans?
I’ve been asked that question many times, but I never had a good answer. Sometimes, I even dodged it with a vague smile.
The truth is, our journey has been so unconventional and deeply personal that trying to explain it in words felt like moving further away from its core.
To be honest, I was a bit reluctant to tell the story at all.
But now, I feel compelled to start writing — maybe it’s proof that the quiet curse that once hung over us has finally lifted.
This is the story of a couple who, on a whim, started making jeans — and how that path slowly became a “story” embraced by others, a long, quiet, and cherished journey.
